If you’ve ever spent a couple of hours working on a laptop in bed or on the sofa in front of the television you’ll know just how much heat that little “Intel inside” puts out as it crunches its way through the data in your spreadsheet.

It takes power from a USB port on your computer to run little fans that suck air in from the sides and pump it up through the computer to help keep it cool. The clever bit is that they’ve managed to keep them relatively quiet so you don’t feel as if you have a helicopter on your lap.
The mat also holds your laptop at a comfortable angle for typing and it has soft neoprene rubber for comfort and to provide a non-slip surface.
It has won a couple of awards, though I’m not 100% sure why. I mean it seems a sensible idea but also an obvious one. Anyhow, this is one laptop accessory that should help you keep your cool even if it does cut down on your computer’s running time by eating battery power.
